Look of the Day

How do you build an outfit around copper stockings with rivets? This is my first attempt. I like the look, but will still be on the lookout for those perfect complements! Let me know if you have any tips for me. Happy Day!

Mixed Nuts

I spent my time in-world today building, so opted for a quick and casual outfit. I've had (and loved) this jacket from /artilleri/ for some time. It was the perfect complement to these great new capris from SWA. With spring and summer coming, I'm pretty sure her 20-pr fatpack has my name on it!

Silent Sparrow Sunday

It's a little surprising that it has taken me so long to blog some of the wonderfulness from Silent Sparrow -- I'm a big fan! Plus, I acquired a huge inventory in the recent remodeling sale :). But, I just joined a newly-formed Silent Sparrow flickr group, and wanted to contribute. The look as a whole is probably not typically Silent Sparrow, but one of the beauties of Hya's work is its mixability. The look started with this beautifully-textured camisole, which was a group freebie.

I was looking for an outfit to attend an educational meeting -- and this one from Kitchy Boutique just fit the bill.. And like my best work outfits, didn't require a lot of extra accessorizing.

Pink is Hot!

[apologies if you are seeing this post twice -- I goofed on the first one, and, most importantly, didn't have all the credits completely correct :(]

As you may have noticed, I'm a big fan of Allegory Malaprop's striped pants -- I bought the fat pack as soon as it came out. How excited do you think I was when she recently added hot pink to her color range, and added it to my stash?!? I made a new t-shirt especially to go with the pants, and topped it off with this fun jewelry from [Woo's!], which I found in the FreeStyle tent at La Reina.

I am just loving this jacket from Kurotsubaki -- I especially love the lace-trimmed cuffs. While I was shopping at Kurotsubaki's main store (which is a wonderful build itself), I decided to shoot on location, and found this delightful Fairy Tale Land Garden Center (see shot below). [note to self -- explore more when out shopping!]

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone. I'm on the fashion.iheartsl.com feed -- WooHoo! Thanks for letting me play :) {and greetings to Salvia -- thanks for your kind words yesterday :)}

My rezz day was in November, but I still feel pretty much like a noob. I don't get in-world nearly as much as I would like right now. I aspire to learn as much as possible about design and building -- but love to play and connect with folks as much as I can.

Before this sounds too much like a pitch for a dating service, On to the Look! I started with the fun skirt from Curious Kitties, but quickly fell in love with the accessorizing! How is it that you start with one item in your closet, and never have enough of the right stuff to go with it? {even if you do have more than 13,000 items in your inventory} This look required several additional shopping trips! I'm really intrigued by the stuff at Kurotsubaki (can also find a small store in Cotton Candy) -- this bangle watch is right up my alley.

Not easy!

Probably a lot of you know this already -- putting together a good mix-and-match look is not really all that easy! Hopefully, a little more experience will help in that regard :). This look started with the leggings and boots. And, I adore these bracelets. This outfit gave me chance to wear one of my own tshirts that I've been working on! (*another learning curve to master*)

This look is also inspired by a Valentine gift (tho' note there is not a bit of pink here!) It all started with the fabulous coat -- so I tried to keep the focus on that. I admit that I feel a bit doctorish in it right now -- and it caused me to realize that my closet is seriously under-accessorized.

A Passion for Pink

I've been thinking that it's about time to take a stab at doing some real second life fashion-blog entries. I probably don't blog quickly enough to become a real fashion blogger -- but there are a couple of things I want to do. I want to organize my inventory ::grin::. I want to practice putting together "looks", and figuring out a style of my own. I want to practice my photography skills. I want to practice my blogging skills. OKAY! I do want to do a little bit of everything! This seems like a good way to start.

My look of the day was inspired by some of the Valentine hunts going on. (my inventory hasn't recovered from all the Christmas gifts yet!) Pink is truly one of my all-time favorite colors -- it never fails to put a smile on my face :)

Stripes!

This look started with the fabulous striped pants. (one of these days I might be a real fashion blogger and get some credits added on here!) I got these pants in several colors, so expect to see lots of them. Funky pants are just the ticket to go with my tees and bangles. (I didn't make this tee, tho' -- its a freebie from Graceland).
